Antibacterial activity of donkey’s milk against clinical isolate of Klebsiella pneumoniae

The purpose of this study was to investigate the antibacterial activity raw donkey milk toward clinical isolate Klebsiella pneumoniae at 9, 15 and 38 °C as well clarify role lysozyme, lactoferrin calcium content in donkey’s milk. effects contamination level incubation period on were also examined. Antibacterial assays performed by determing bacterial count intentionally contaminated (102, 103, 104 cfu/mL) samples during 8 96 hours. Lab-on-a-chip electrophoresis atomic absorption spectrometry used for determination contents milk, respectively. showed varying degrees against tested strain K. pneumoniae. synergism lysozyme proven with higher amount a stronger activity. correlation between not established. Donkey potential compared 9 °C, but limited growth rate °C. resulted faster consumption capacity artificial neural network model prediction gave acurate fit experimental data, showing reasonably good (overall r2 0.986, training error 4.67?10-4, while nutrient broth 0.982 0.002).
